The first time I got this disc to review, it had a lot fewer songs on it, and the band was named "Not Magpie" instead of "3 Twins." I was publishing The Excuse on paper, and I never got an issue out before John sent me another copy. They're both phenomenal albums. The songs sound a little like the Parlor Sessions that these guys were involved with a few years ago. And a little like John Magnie's first album from years ago. And a little like John's newer album. And a very little bit like the subdudes. Especially "Wyoming Bound." A great song.
tThe music on this record is typically great folky new orleans singer-songwriter with a touch of bluegrass, country, funk and zydeco. It's pretty hard to describe. That's why you need to go to their website and get a copy for yourself. You won't be sorry.
