I'm only 3 songs into this album, and I already know that I'm going to keep this one for myself. It's got a nice Americana sound to it. Kind of like the Old 97's if you took away their punkish side. Maybe a little like stripped down Squirrel Nut Zippers. These guys recorded the album live, without overdubs, and you can tell. It sounds like they're sitting around in your living room, playing slightly goofy, mostly serious songs about everything from the moon to loneliness to jailtime to death, and more.

The downside is that the record is too short. I want more. But as the band says, "That's how long records used to be."

Go out and pick this one up. If you're a Whiskeytown, Old 97's, Todd Snider, and maybe Vic Chestnut fan, you'll love it.
